i just ordered a safcII, i have a s13 redtop sr20.when i get the safc, and wire it up, do i need an air/fuel gauge to be precise?i think my car is running rich. the safc wtih get rid of all those symptoms after tune, right?i feel like an idiot but i just dont know this computer stuffthanks!

You will need to take it to a dyno to have it tuned, this way you will know where to take fuel away or add fuel. If you have a stock fuel system the safc should take care of the fuel problem if it is rich, unless there is another problem, bad maf, leaking injector. most dynos in my area charge around $250 to tune a safc (dyno time and tuning fee).

nowhere around me even has a dyno that i know of. its all street tune
