i am currently running a hacked mafs setup and i got a safc2 im going to install. my question is can i install the safc with my hacked mafs or should i just use the stock mafs. my a/f's are pretty good with my current hacked mafs setup, i was just planning on using the safc to make them even better.

You're lucky. I believe a lot of ppl install safc's because they have to tune with their maf .

Well, if you are using a z32 maf for instance, I believe the selection is 2 - 5 hotwire. I am using 5-5 hotwire now because I have a stock maf.

Like I said above, I believe it is 2in 5out. There is a z32 wiring diagram which illustrates this idea very well, you'll have to search for it though because I dont' remember where on the forum I found it.

Hmm, can you give me more details on ur hacked stock maf? like are you doing 2 maf setup? I'm interested bcs I also have a stock maf setup and would love to hear how yours is setup.

Like ^ said, for stock maf, it's 5in5out. That's the stock tho, so you may just have to play with it if that doesn't work right.

P.S. set this before you start the car, I was doing it during a red light and my car turned itself off! oops .

umm its pretty simple, this has been talked about many times on here. you just take the stock s14 mafs, and cut out the sensor part and put it into a larger dia. pipe. you cannot do it with the s13 mafs. im just wondering if i should still put it in as a stock mafs even though it has been modified.

O, I see what you're talking about now (sorry, I get sidetracked when i read half this stuff, haha).

Well, the wires will be exactly the same. You'll use the safc to tune the airflow to compensate for the leaner conditions seen by the ecu. I'm pretty sure that's it.

W/ a z32 maf, or your maf, or any larger maf, the safc is used to compensate for the higher amount of air rushing through (hence the air flow convertor usage).

Since your setup already runs pretty good, you will probably only need minor tuning and adjustments.

The hotwire set up is the same.

Long thread for a simple answer, eh?
