you can take it to a dyno and have a pro do it... I don't think many people try to do it themselfs

you need a wideband, wihtout it, you're just guessing A/F ratios.

Any kind of tuning you either need to be on a dyno or have a wideband. I wouldn't want to give you false information that could blow your engine.

thanks for the info guys. i knew i would need a wideband to be accurate but i figured there was a sort of "base" as to where i should richen or lean out.

my safc is not adjusting the a/f ratio right now, only monitering. how much shou;ld i pay for a wideband?

I don't like NOS at all unless you are using it to supplement a Turbo... after you pay for all of the NOS stuff you might as well have gone with a cheap turbo (not in quality but in setup) and that power is always there... no need to pay for a 'Refill'

A small turbo setup will run you around $1000 and get you a lil over 200WHP... that's the about same as running a 75 shot of NOS but all the time... power is always there..

Greddy has a bolt on turbo kit with eveything you need for $3500

http://www.drifting.com/articl...Title=

if you're not looking to buy a kit then just get a T3/T4 turbo and buy a manifold for the KA... lot's of info in the KA-T section of the site..

if you're going to be running an SR20DET then well... you would not need a kit I still prefer the 2.4L KA (iron block) to the 2.0L SR

Buy from our sponsor IAP. 3200 for their kit. and you already got a safc. Only other thign you will need is a wideband so yu cna tune yourself and a heavy duty clutch. at 7lbs i got about 230hp.

thats pretty good man. mine was 16.1 with an exhaust, header, anf intake. a month later i yanked the engine and completely rebuilt it. also i did a port matching and slight porting of the intake and exhaust side. finally i added the safc and a stage 1 act clutch. my most recent 1/4 time is 17.2!

knock sensor?

God dam 17.2 is like a Civic time... that's way worse then stock... stock on a 240 is 16.5... either you are an awful driver/launcher or there is somthing wrong with your car... I plan to be well into the 14s with my small turbo kit Possibly break into the 13s..... a few years, a few engines and more then a few grand from now this will be a 10s car.

maybe he meant 16.2 ...

anyways, you can find widebands for about $300. PLX300 is a good one, Innovative makes them also.

can't you just completely strip out your interior... where you have your dash, a seat, and a shifter lol... tires with some traction, and basic mods and run pretty low 15s? I thought I saw someone say they ran a 14.8 wiht a stock ka completely stripped interior... My car weighs freakin 2810lbs. lol.

I run dope on my car personally, along with Header, dual 248* cams, CAI, and 2.5" exhaust with a resonator for a muffler (actually sounds good). This is in an AUTOMATIC 93 fastback. I ahve yet to get walked by ANY N/A 240sx 5 spd car (this is motor vs. motor). I have raced quite a few other 240's as well. With nitrous, my car runs mid/low 14's on a 50~ shot. I ahve jets to go steadily up to about 90 hp, I've just been lazy to tune for them. The KADE LOVES nitrous oxide. Yeah, with turbo you'll ahve power all the time, but your drivability in the twisties will suffer slightly (if that sort of thing matters to you). NAturally aspirated throttle response is generally beter than turbo setups. And if you DO run into a quick car, jsut crack the bottle and spank that arse. As for tuning, I'm still runnig a completely stock Map, but I'm going with a AFC pretty soon myself, I have a few holes in my powerband I'd like to smooth out.
