Ok, the safc2 reads off the stock knock meter which i've heard isn't very reliable. Well, I installed my safc2 about a month ago but my car isn't turbo yet. Everything was fine and the knock meter always read 0 unless i sat idle for over 5 minutes. now the weather has turned cold and my car backfires a little when i'm slowing down but i'm pretty sure thats from the combo of the cold weather, my cai, and my straight free flowing exhaust. but my knock meter is reading knock levels of like 8-9 when i'm idle or when i push in the clutch and slow down. wtf?

should this be a cause for concern? or is the safc2/knock meter just psycho like my ex?

I'm under the impresison that IF properly calibrated...the knock meter will show engine noise as low readings, like ~5-15 or so.

Anything above that...UNDER load, may be cause for concern.

Basically, 8-9 is NOT anything to worry about.
