Anyone have a KAT with a MKIII supra CT-26 and SR20DET 370cc injectors tuned with an SAFC. Im about to do a similar setup and was wondering if anyone already has had this dyno tuned with a wideband. If so what is your SAFC map? Id like to have running clean and smooth with more tuning than just my eyes nose and ears.

Also does anyone know if the CT-26 needs to be watercooled or can the holes be plugged on it? Ive read that some T3s can have their coolant holes plugged and run fine without them.

I would say shoot for 11.5-12 A/F across the map.

Thanks, but I already know that. Im looking for an SAFC map that will give me those A/Fs with the 370s and a CT-26. I dont have a dyno nearby who I trust to tune it.

dont trust anyone, you cant just grab a universal setting for your car. the best way is to do a base tune and then go on the street or dyno.

lol of course i cant grab a universal setting for my car...however if someone has an identical setup to mine the setting is going to be close, if not perfect. Far better than I could by myself. Not only do I have to have the A/Fs close to turn it on so it doesnt run lean instantly, The nearest dyno I would trust to do the tuning is hours of driving away. I want it pretty damn close before I go there. So all of you who seem to think I dont know what Im talking about and you need to give me your advice DONT. Please, if there is anyone who has a CT-26 from a MKIII supra, and SR20DET 370s for fuel go ahead and post what your SAFC settings are, I would appriceate it.

Feel free to post something, but dont second guess me :-) I wasnt asking for peoples opinions, just want an SAFC map from someone with the same setup I have so that I have a decent running car till I can get dyno time in.

Probably not to many people running the CT26, its a bad choice for the KA. I'm not telling you to switch, just that there will not likely be people using that setup. I do have a suggestion though. To get the car up and running. Simply thin out the maps under 2200 rpm. After that point the turbo will be producing a sufficient amount of boost to do the leaning for you. This should get you to the dyno. If I'm telling you somthing you already know, sorry for that. Just trying to help.

Hehe no :-) thanks...was a little on edge after I posted. I know the CT-26 is a bad choice, but this whole turbo thing just kinda fell into place and I havent done anything with my car for awhile so I decided to do it. Had a supra parts car with a blown motor at my disposal. So grubbed the FMIC and snail and things started clicking in my head :-) Im thinking about getting the twin chamber exhaust housing for the CT...alot of MR2 guys go for it to boost faster without losing anything. Ive seen a few go on ebay for pretty cheap. Dont understand the whole concept about having the separate chambers in the housing but its been proven to work. Read Garrets explanation of it when they released the first twin chamber housing years ago, but that didnt help clear it up any.

Why all the hate for the CT-26? That's what I have and it's great for low boost. (9psi) Turbo spools quickly and holds boost to redline. As for the SAFC setting, I'd think you could use anyone's 370 setup regardless of turbo. All it's doing is calculating how much air is going in; shouldn't matter greatly on specific turbo selection. Of course it wouldn't be exact but it would give you a pretty good idea, just err toward the rich side until you can tune it w/ a wideband.

I've looked at those exhaust housings that you're talking about. They also have two wastgate flappers. I would buy one but the dp flange would have to be changed too. I think it helps to keep the velocity of the exhaust gas up as it enters the turbine area.

what injectors are you using, and what are you using to tune your fuel curve if i may ask?

I've got 460cc injectors and a SAFCII. I just guessed at what to set it at initially by doing the math for the difference in injector sizes(About -35% across the board). For yours I'd run -20% or so just to get it going. I only drove it like that for a while until I could get the exhaust completed and then I took it to have it tuned w/ wideband and dyno. It freed up a lot more horsies when we leaned it out. We wound up with -22% for low and -35% at 1k sloping down to -44% at 6.2k for the high.

Oh yeah, I'd run the water lines if I were you. It's really easy to T off the heater lines and I'm sure the turbo is thankfull for the extra cooling.

K. That all sounds good to me. Happen to have a dyno sheet from after you had your car tuned?
