The settings on the SAFC II for the KA24E engine are IN 5 and OUT 5, for the Hot Wire setting; I called APEXi and asked, they told me this, they also said that the RPM problem may be a bad conection, but I checked and it's a good solder joint, so that can't be it.
As a result, the car can't be tuned well at all, on the Low Throttle map. When I try to tune the throttle point of 800 (idle), just to see how much of an effect it'll have(with -50%, or + 50% adjustment), the idle does not change the sound of the car does not change, and nothing changes about the idle (no popping noises, no surging, no anything). I have a feeling that the SAFC just "can't see" the RPMs when they are below 1500. This is a problem, because it affects my whole Low Throttle tuning, which is off by alot. When I do -2% on 1500RPM to 3000RPM, the engine staggers and feels like its WAY too lean, which should not be caused by only a 2% adjustment. My Low Throttle is set on 50% and my High Throttle starts at 80%.
Also, does anyone know what the settings for the "decel throttle" settings should be? The Japanese manual says that for the SR is should be a 1.5% throttle, Setting 1 at 2% and Setting 2 at 3.5%. This does not work AT ALL for my car, as it stalls out when I try those settings. And no I can't read Japanese, but there are charts in the manuals supplied that show specific settings for specific cars (S!% SR20, S14 SR20, 13bREW, etc). Obviously the KA is not listed
Has anyone had any kind of similar issues with their SAFCs on their KAs? Any help and/or advice would be very welcome, I am pretty much very upset with a 300 dollar device that seems to have made my car run worse than before.
