Hi guys, I was wondering if anyone on here could help me out with some SAFC II settings on my KA-T setup. Since I have no money to get a tune right now and I live in a town where no dyno shop knows what they are doing, I was wondering if you could tell me some settings for my SAFCII.The car is a 96 s14. I wanted to know some settings that would basically make my car run rich so it is safe. If possible I would need to know things such as:

-lo and high throttle settings (my throttle is 10% low and 50%high) -Ne Point. -Dec-Air Settings. -sensor type (mine set at 2 in 2 out but don't know if this is correct for a96 ka s14.

My setup is: -s14 t28 at stock boost -Ebay Godspeed FMIC -Taurus e-fan -Megan 2.5" catback -ebay manifold and downpipe -Walbro 255 pump -SAFC II -SR 370cc's -stock s14 MAF -retarded timing

Any help would be greatly appreciated. Thanks, Alex.

You NEED a wideband to tune with an SAFC....or else you'll be f***ing with your settings blindly.

low throttle 35% high 60%low board should be -27% but do -20 to be safeBut that t25 is going to spool so fast no idea what to give you for high settings. You can tune yourself on the dyno, go for 11.5 under wot, 14.5 for cruising and idleSet your cruising first....

Get a wideband, I don't want to see another "I blew my motor" Thread.

Seriously. Lately I see a lot of people finally get their turbo project going and get all these parts, and it's great and I know it's a great feeling, and I love to see a new members on here with a new projects, but for some reason everyone seems to neglect to get the most important things.

Just think of it this way if you think the project is costing you a lot that just means you have no money to be cheap.

Do it right do it once.

You can not trust another person SAFC setting, and especially an SAFC setting because of how it operates.

Get rid of that ****ty SAFC.

I was running on and blew my ring lands because it doesnt control timing.

I have since switched to an Emanage Ultimate and so far so good. Plus I'm making way more power at less boost.

SAFC setups are alright for low boost setups IMHO. Any setup higher than 8 to 10 psi...and your timing is basically running off of your knock sensor -.-

Yeah, I plan on getting a wideband soon. And I have seen tons of people running safc II's for 300+hp. 300 is my max, in reality I really only want something above 200hp, 250 would be awesome for me as I have been drifting for 5 years with na and did really well and I have drifted friend's cars with stock sr's and it's an incredible difference. But yeah, wideband is super important. Guages in general are very important. The thing is, I already have bad valve tap but it's cool because I have a 98 ka waiting around to be put in when this one blows. And I'll make sure to have wideband by then.

ok for the sensor is :hotwire and 5 in 5 out you could run the lo throttle -27 across the board but I run it -33 across since I have a wideband and it gives me 14 afr's while cruising, high throttle I suggest -25 from 1k to 2500k rpms and once you hit boost on that t28 which is at 2600k rpm change the high throtle to -20 all the way to 7k rpms ,also even if you have 93 octane I would retard the timing all the way at the dizzy, also if you have a crapy bov I would set the dec air settings at 1) 3.00% and 2)4.00% if the rpms is too high at idle then put 1)2 % 2) 3%.

Glad to help, sorry for the mess I wrote.

Thanks for the input Riubens. And yeah, my timing is retarded all the way until I can get a tune or get a wideband.
