ill be finally slappin my turbo kit on next weekend but today i decided to put in my SAFC and play around with it to become more familiar before i get my turbo in....im goin to be running a tuned ecu along with an SAFC which i will take to get dyno tuned to get it dead on...

the question i have it, what do i set my MAF to? 1in 1out?? or 5in 5out?? ive heard both when i searched the site....the car runs either way...

also, what should i set my hi/lo throttle at??

Being it's stock MAFS your numbers have to match. whether it be 1:1 2:2 3:3 etc. whichever your car idles best on but the numbers have to match. Your hi and lo throttle shouldn't matter because your not going to be adding or subtracting any fuel...

If you have a wideband setup, you could lean it out a tad, as the stock ECU is VERY rich. That way you could further familiarize yourself with the unit and it's functions.

Hint: The peak hold function is very nice for doing WOT pulls, monitoring the WBo2 readings (might want a friend to drive for you...). The moment you see a reading you don't like, immediately lift the throttle (or tell your friend to lift) and the SAFC will show the RPM at which you lifted, so you'll know what range to adjust. This keeps you from having to look at the tach and the WBo2 and the road and your friend who's driving and...you get the point.

Oh, FWIW, using stock MAF I found 5/5 worked well.

well i have a tuned ECU in the mail....then im going to have the SAFC in there basically doing nothing until i have a chance to get to AMS so they can fine tune it a bit....right now i have my MAF set at 5in 5out and it seems to be running the best....

now i just have eto figure out how to play around with the Dec Air functions cuz i wont be recirculating my BOV

I run an open BOV on the cold pipe. My dec air is turned off. I have no stumbling problems whatsoever.

how is that a waste of money?? companies that tune ecu's tune them very generously...most of the time running rich....which is why im goin to get a dyno tune to get the best A/F i can get

Nothing wrong with spending some extra $$$ to ensure your setup is optimal and safe.

not a waste of money............some people prefer 11.2 a/f's as supposed to 11.7....................u cant change them without an safc or emanage on the fly without em............waste of time or money to retune an ecu or reflash a chip for a .5 of a difference a/f........

Ugh.

I see no need for an SAFC in this instance either.

Talk to Ivan, I bet he agrees.

SAFC is a bad solution. Tuning the ECU should be sufficient.

well idk if the tune im gettin will be too rich or not....if its too rich, id like to tune it down the SAFC on the dyno...which is why i think its a good idea.....
