Im at school right now but this weekend when i go home i hope to be cranking my 3 month project. As the topic says i have an Apexi SAFC and AVCR. I reviewed both manuals and i think i understand what they spell out. If im not mistaken we have a KARMEN type ecu. And on the SAFC I have to set some IN/OUT setting. I have a 300zx MAF, Greddy type S BOV and will be venting to the atmosphere. What should that setting be? What other things do i need to look out for?

Ive heard that the first few hundred miles of a brand new engine are crucial and to make sure i dont run to rich to glaze the cylindars. How do i go about leaning out the mixture untill i can make it to a dyno tune?

As far as the AVCR. Should i just set leave it dormant after initial setup and allow the wastegate spring alone to actuate boost? I have a 6psi spring i think. The engine is a 1991 ka24de, completely rebuilt going in a 1991 240.Thanks in advance,~Sam

we use the hotwire setting. the in out settings are suppose to be 2 in 5 out for us. for me 1in 6 out is working. then for the bov you must set the dec. air settings. i have mine at 2.0, .7, 2.0. to tune the car with out the dyno, invest in a wideband o2 system. they acn be had for about $300. then you wont have to worry about go to the dyno except to know how much power your making.

i dont have the manual in front of me. I remember there being different ways of wiring depending onthe kind of ecu you have. Should i have wired it differently? I was told to wire it as a karmen by sgp racing here in houston and that is what i did.

Thanks for the in/out settings and dec. air settings.~Sam

if you wired it up as a karman sensor, then you will have to redo some of that. hotwire cars use the yellow and white wires, where karman uses orange and pink.

the manual shows to use yellow and white with mafs/map cars and pink and orange with karman cars. so if you listened to that shop and wired it according to the manual....its wrong. but if you used the yellow and white all you have to do is change the sensor type and #.
