Well I was in class from 9:30 till 4:30 and got back to my baby and noticed some shiny pieces on the ground as I was walking up. As I got closer I noticed those shiny pieces were off of my drivers side turn indicator... I got closer and noticed ugly scuff marks and a rippled corner in my front bumper and an indention near the right side of the grill. I can only assume that I was a victim of a hit and run, and now my baby looks like she was in a fight and got her face all busted up.

So of coarse by now I'm very pissed and really want to find the jerk that did this. I'll post a pic later cause it's dark now, but I guess on the bright side I can justify getting a body kit... speaking of which, what kind do you guys like? I was thinking something like this would look good.

That body kit is hideous, look for something from Japan. IIRC, there's a member on here (Q45racing maybe?) that sells a knock-off Junction Produce kit here in the states already. That sucks what happened, hope you find them.

sorry about that,,,suxs!!! that is my biggest fear in driving both my cars,,having some careless a-hole hit one (either driving or parked) and having the repair costs so out of wack with the value of the car. i agree with falk,,,don't get too crazy with a body kit. the Q is a classy monster,,try and match a kit with that in mind.

Not a big fan of these mods, Q45 needs something more subtle.

I feel your pain, I had 3,900 worth of damage to my 97' and I was PISSED OFF. Make sure you file a police record ASAP. If you have insurance you'll want that to prove you were operating the car and if you have to pay you can write it off on your taxes.

You at ASU?? I hope this didn't happen at ASU!! I'm an alum Ph.D. Class of '91

That kind of crap makes me so mad I can't even begin to describe it.I want to know what the hell is going on inside the head of a person who would just drive away after doing that.

It's good to know that you can write off those expenses on taxes. Because if that happens to my car, that's the only way I'll be able to get it repaired--even if I had comp, any accident would likely total my 13 year old car.

You actually might want to reconsider making any claims with your insurance company just yet... if the cost to repair the vehicle is high enough, they might want to brand it a salvaged car, and let me tell you... the insurance companies know that import cars fetch high dollar at auction, so they will go way out of their way to have the car salvaged... which usually leaves you in a major bind. A friend's car was recently hit-and-run(ned) in front of his house in the middle of the night, and the only parts needing replacement are the fender and bumper cover and one headlight, yet the insurance company has already considered it a total loss... so he's majorly screwed right now. Gotta be careful or the same might happen to you

They key to working with insurance is to have a good agent, which pretty much eliminates alot of the second-tier carrirers. I have Farmer's AND a good agent. I run things through her. I agree finding out how much damage you have is important to know before you get them involved. I had 4k worth and my 97' was still worth at least 7,500 if not 10k last year. Still is it worht putting 3k-4k in repairs versus taking a check from your insurance company and giving up the car. I feel the best way to brocker that is okay since you say the car is junk, I'll give you 500 back off my settlement and keep it.
