ok, heres the story: i was driving my sister to a local park on the way to my girlfriend's grad. therefore i was all dressed up in my suit, something that doesnt happen to often. anyhoo, i was rounding a fairly sharp corner and just as i got past the apex, i saw a van that was half in my lane going the other way. i swerved right, started to go off the road, swerved left to correct that, hit some gravel, went into a spin, spun 180, hit the ditch, missed a pole by 6 feet, spun another 180, slid for 10 feet, then dropped off of a 2 foot drop off and the car came to rest on the drivers side. we were both ok, but the van just took off!! so the cops and a tow truck came, and we got the car back righted. are ya ready for this? no damage! thats right, there were no dents, the mirror folded in when it came down, and my window was already rolled down, so there was no broken glass!! the only things wrong were some transmission fluid that leaked from the shifter hole onto the drivers seat, and i think i'll need an anllignment. from hearing what happened, does anyone know anything else i should do besides check and top up the transmission, get the seat cleaned, and get an alignment? (and i know how lucky i am, the nissan gods were smiling on me)

besides checking the tires for damage flat spotting and the likes, I would also check the suspension bushings and parts. Check the bushings for signs of tearing and the parts for any cracks or bends...

Thats some funny sh... I mean now that your ok and all with no real damage :) .

That sucks. Amazing the car held together with no damage! I would still get it checked out. Make sure there aren't any holes in the oil pan. Nick

that's what we said too. really says something for japanese engineering. a 2500lb car can rest on its side and have no damage, its amazing. the oil pan is fine, i checked the oil and started it today, but i couldnt find more synthetic gear oil, so i didnt drive it. the interior is gonna need some major sleaning. the transmission leaked all over the seat, and it soaked it all up. thanks for lettin me know you guys care about me and the car. i'll keep ya updated. ps: dont ever do this if you dont have to, it was scary as hell.

Are your rims fine? Have you checked your tires? All that spinning might have chewed up your tires unevenly.

How fast were you going anyways when you took that turn?

You landed on the driver's side of the car? As in the sheet metal? And no damage? Wow. You're a lucky one :)

sounds like you lucked out on the no injuries and no damage part...the same thing happened to my friend about a year ago, he was driving along getting ready to go around a curve when another car came and was half in his lane and he had to swerve to miss them and ran into a big wooden mail box, in his mom's car too:eek:

sometimes i hate it that 240s are maneuverable enough to avoid hitting other cars, and then crash into something else, making all the damage the 240 driver's fault. of course i'd rather not hit ANYthing at all, but if i sweve to miss a jacka$s, any damage should be the jacka$s' fault. who was it that crashed a few weeks ago like that? i don't remember

god had nothing to do with that, its puuuuuuure luck man.. and maby some good reflexes (sp?)... man i remember i was turning out of my develpment and fishtailed into a ditch.. 2 MPH faster and my car would of been totaled.. but it stoped just in time with just the nose and front wheels hanging over the edge, the water was about 3 feet down.. not a darn thing messed up on it.. and if my nebors hadnt called the cops on me (***holes) then everything would of been taken care of quickly..
