So I was in the mountains of North GA going up towards blairsville and hit a gravel patch midturn and it cause me to skate off the road into a ditch. I pretty much had no control of the car and there was no tire marks. When my friend came up to help me out he could tell that there was a lot of gravel on the inside of the turn which is what i took. Unfortunately here is the aftermath:

Image

Rocker panel is destroyed and it pushed the b pillar in on the car where the hinges are mounted for the door. Also the camber plate on the passenger side failed causing my coilover to pop through the strut tower. I replaced the fender and doors already and put the stock suspension back on so I can drive it to work.

I feel bad cause this car served me well for 5 yrs and was my DD project car with the suspension modification and manual transmission swap.

I still plan to get another J30 and what to do is already in the works. I am looking to get a white J30 and drop my motor and trans into it. Get my G35 wheels powder coated flat black, black out the chrome, lights and other misc stuff and then lower it once again. This wont probably happen until October, but I will let you guys know what parts I will be selling. It is serving me to be my DD until I can swap things and then I'm stripping it down as best as I can this time.

Those are G35 rims? Damn they look great on a J30. They would look amazing on my dark green J30t. Sorry about your unfortunate accident and you are okay. man it looked bad a**. You had it lowered too I want to lower mine too how much did it cost you I'm in Northern Cali so it will probably cost more since you're near GA

I doubt he had more than $750 into the drop. S14 spindles up front, and S13 coilovers all the way around.

yah im ok. just got a lot of things to sort out now with work, school and now a new car.

think im just gonna call it project Casper
like i said before im wanting to get a White J30
get my rear coilovers rebuilt and check out the front passenger side Cusco and make sure the shock itself isnt blown. im gonna get the 02-06 lancer camber plates that Drift Day got for his J30 so I dont have to drill custom holes.

ill run with stock wheels for a bit and fix up the G wheels. ill sand them down and make them smooth and then get them powder coated black. thinking of going with about a 25% tint on the windows and tint all but the headlights. then prep all the chrome pieces and black those out including the emblems and stuff on the car.

it sucks cause i got to wait a month before i have any sort of money saved up to get another one. really all i care for is a J30 with a good body and decent interior. condition of motor is not my concern since i will be dropping my motor and trans into it (second manual swap in 6 months lol).

currently the J30 drives, there is just a lot of road noise because of doors and abs light is constantly on. riding with stock front suspension is weird feeling after getting used to stiff front suspension for a year. the car lifts when i go WOT which is sort of funny to me.

i am going to be getting a tuned chip to put in my ecu which will allow the J30 to be 100% tunable. im looking to be pushing over 200whp with just basic mods before i pull the motor and swap it.

sounds like i got all my ideas together, its just now waiting around to put them into action...

Sorry to hear about your J, but I'm glad you're not hurt! When you do start parting your car out I call dibs on the all the door seals and the drivers side window regulator. Since you want to get a white J and black it out, maybe I can serve as some inspiration. I can take pictures in a week or two when I lower my front end to give you a better idea. P.S. my cell phone camera doesn't work well in bright lights hence the poor quality:/

Hope this gives you something to start with, but remember mine has 200k miles in the desert sun and probably won't look as good as yours. Good luck!

It has a little over 200k. If I can get it running I'll let you know how it runs. Ill be working on it one weekend soon to get it fixed. The guy wants to sell the car as a whole to me instead of in pieces.

well i got deposit put on the white J, and guy got the clear title. hope to work on it next sat and get the car to my house to start the mod/conversion process.

process is as follows: get it running and test motor and trans. once those check out im gonna pull them and clean them up to sell. after thats done ill be super cleaning the engine bay. pull most of the interior including back seat, and all door panels. i dont wanna mess these up while im working on the car. ill pull the dash and prep the parking brake and other components for the manual swap. includes making holes on firewall for master cylinder and cutting bigger hole for shifter. mod the auto trans wiring harness for the manual. paint brake calipers orange. clean under side of car and paint fender wells black. drop rear subframe and put in some stiffer subframe bushings for the 300zx. put in also stiffer bushings for the differential. change fluids in the differential. cut hole for battery relocation cables to run through the car to the trunk. start moving over sound system, electric fans. pull headlights and mod those and thats about it for now.
