so yea im bored today away from my mother too. got out and started evaluating the chances of getting my s30 back running. well the whole car has killer rust and i dont think it is salvageable. the motor well its been trashed since i dropped a valve. but it can be completely rebuilt with some money and time. the suspension is great and it has brand new tires. but sadly i've hit the realization that i need to swap the suspension and wheels over to another z if i can get one for fairly cheap that runs. my body will just go to the scrap yard i guess. :frown:

motors can be found free or cheap, it's always the rust thats the big issue, if your chassis is too far gone you might have to look for a better chassis but your version of too rusty might be desirable to someone in the rustbelt, what you guys call too rusty generally liik rust free to us ;)

I'm confused, do you want to rebuild your engine? get an RB/ or get anotehr car which most likely has a good motor in it?

in theory if you bring 6 non turbo L28E fuel injectors, yes, but i wouldnt, the whole suspension is factory 1977 with X86000 miles on it, the rear control arms make alot of racket cuz the bushings are beyond fried, but until it quit running, i made multiple trips from bryan to san antonio with no qualms other than a loud exhaust and the "floating" feeling it has from the suspension being toast, i have done a compression check, 160psi cross all 6 cyl, all six cyl are firing, so i redid the firing order, and it still stumbles harsh on accel, i believe having compression, spark, and firing order taken down as good, it should be the injectors, i just cant afford all six of them, so if you brought 6 known good injectors, it should run fine back to the woodlands, but i would still rather for sake of a friendship and my good name, watch it leave on a trailer

No i dont, its the floorpans and where the rear fender meets the rockers, i welded up the rear sway bar mount where it rusted off the body, the frame is surprisingly rust free however, i work at a dealership as a mechanic and have had it in the air on my lift before, the only problem with the rust that i found is mentioned above, wow being broke must be a red s13 hatch thing...lol, you could rent a tow dolly from u-haul and that would get her back to you, you do have that frontier....

I believe so, im not very familiar with the chassis, but as far as i can tell, yes, the frame is dented but solid, the suspension needs bushings but is still good

wow UTI, i went to WyoTech lol, right on what are you taking there? And you dont need power to tow my Z, i corner balanced it once upon a time ago it 50/50 f/r and corner balanced 50/50 as well, 2803lbs with a full tank of fuel, a 4 cyl frontier shouldn't have an issue with that...

the 280 is around 2800 lbs if you rent a tow dolley they are around 800 lbs, which puts you right att he limit

I had a 99 frontier SEV6 which was rated at 5k lbs, I once towed a 78 FSJ which was right around 5k lbs by itself on my 2k lb trailer, my truck did not have a good day and to make ti fun the trailer brakes were nto functional at taht time, take off with the manual tran required a delicate foot and braking took advanced planning, it did the job but I did tear the isolator in teh carrier bearing, 2wd might not have a 2 piece rear shaft?

really wyotech, ha how was it and what you take. im taking basic automotive and ford fact. so almost 80% of master tech status on paper. but want to get in with bmw, porsche, or mercedes. i cant afford a z right now or i believe i would try and come get it.
that fuel mileage is bs for my truck with an automatic. i get maybe 18 highway and 14 city.

it was good, i took automotive technology with applied service management, also i am very flexible with my Z, i am personally and mentally done d!ck with it 100% and am content with it being that way, i will take payments, i am not asking much, pm me for my as low as it will get final price, i just want it gone primarily, funding is also important but not as much asit being the hell away from me, i have 3 cars all of them projects, 2 of them arent running and i am tired of seeing this one, i have no use for it for the forseeable future

anytime saturday after 2pm, you should also bring a good side post battery, the one thats in it is dead but its under warranty still, i just have replaced it yet, and i would be thrilled to take $800 for it, as i said i am very flexible on price, also enable your pm system so we can discuss this off the boards, i would like not to have my phone numbers spammed lol
