So today I needed to change the brake pads in my bothers civic which is kept outside. My car gets the garage so it needed to be moved in order to get my brother car in to be worked on. So I move my car out on the street. So I go to town on his car mean while my cars chilling out in the sun.

So I'm working in the garage and my neighbor starts pulling out of her driveway which is the one in the picture. From where I took the picture is about where I was. I was just maybe 20feet back. So she goes straight out and cuts it way too late. Not looking back she nails my car. And I saw everything. I literally walked over to her shaking. :ohno:
Luckily the damage wasnt horrible. I need a new door which is going to have to be painted and the skirt needs new paint. It was a miracle my widebody fenders didnt crush. She must have just missed them.

Now in any other situation I would have got all the money I could, and then do it myself, buy used parts, and make alot of money off the deal. But these are my neighbors. And the husband is unemployed. So He got pretty mad at his wife for not being careful. The husband said take it to a shop and have them fix/paint it. He knows I just finished painting it and getting it looking nice. And that I probably don't want to do it over again. But thats going to cost a ton. So I'll do it myself and save them some money. Nevertheless though my time isnt free. So I'm going to have to get money for that. It's too bad. Wish it was some grumpy driver who I didn't know.

It was the corner of her rear bumper that hit me. Its sucks because with my car being so low her bumper hit the upper part of my door. Which totally owner her car. Her bumper cracked and has a decent hole in it now. All in all I felt bad. But thats life, and life has consequences.

And this is why they shouldn't be let out of kitchens... :tisk:

Glad the damage isn't worse though. Your car is among the cleanest on NICO. I opened the thread expecting total carnage. Good thing I was wrong...

You're a good dude. Every time some one hits my bumpers (theyre all cracked and faded) I hop out my car HOPING that they're jerks, and then theyre all nice and apologetic :squint:

I'm SO glad it didn't get owned though. Like Simmode said, its one of the cleanest cars on NICO.

INSERT STORY HERE:

My friend came over the other day to help me and we drove up to the parts store and he's telling me about the nissan D21 he's flipping and asking bout SOHC KA's and then he's like,

"I got 5 cars in my driveway that need work."

Five?!

"Two trucks, an olds, the maxima, an 08 Camry,-"

08 CAM?!

"Yeah I could kill her for not looking in the rear view, I don't know how she could have gotten that much speed in the driveway..."

I lost.

hmm good idea. and did you mean "heart"? haha. but yea that would also save them money. and i could find them a used bumper too.

haha thanks. I totally know what you mean. At first she was going to just give me a check to fix it. So I would have felt bad taking alot. But shes going to have her insurance pay now. hell yes. Now I can make some good money

^for sure. that would effin suck. I can't wait to go get an estimate tommorow. Does anyone know how it goes with the door. I'm quite sure you cant get new ones. So what would a body shop tell you in this situation. Get a used door? Because alot of people dont have the time nor want to do that themselves. Just trying to get an estimate of how a shop would charge. The skirt needs repaint, along with a new painted door.

This same thing happened to my brother with his MINT pearl white 3000GT. Only his repair costs were about 3k out the door. Plus the lady that hit his car was his GF's mom. ANDDDDD she had already gotten in 2 other wreaks that year so their insurance wouldn't cover it. She paid up though, 3k out of pocket sucks.

Anyways glad it was one panel for you and that fact that fixing 240's is cheaper than dirt. Paint isn't though =( Good luck though!
