What's up everyone, I just joined the forum so I figured I would introduce myself with a little RB25 build thread. I bought this 1975 280z in January 2011 from a guy in ATL for $3,500. It had ZERO rust, so I was instantly sold. Plus had a fresh rebuild on the ol L28 and also came with the Konig Rewinds. So all in all, it was a pretty good deal. I have been working on the car since I bought it so I'll have to back track everything until now. Anyways, on to the pics...

The day I bought it...

Good ol L28 before I cleaned up the rats nest of wires...

Diff bushings were shot so I went ahead and bought an Arizona Z mustache bar with new bushings...

Instead of going with ZG flares, I decided to be different and pull the stock fenders out, which required alot of persuasion, cutting, pulling, beating the hell out of it with a hammer, welding, and finishing it up with fiberglass and filler...

It is lowered on cut springs at this point btw.

Here are some pics I took at the battleship park in Mobile.

Now time for some fresh paint. Leguna Seca blue, which was done by myself in a friend's 1 car garage, disassembled everything and painted piece by piece, then reassembled...

Next is the Ground Control coilovers and rear disc brakes...

Image

had to fab up some pieces to make the parking brake operate with the new disc conversion...

I went to the junk yard and pulled a few different rear brake hoses. Winds up that those from a '92 Accord worked the best...

...and this was my shop lol

Took her to the local Auto X for a little fun the day before I shipped off to Korea...

OK, since I've been in Korea for almost a whole year, I have been stocking up on RB parts. The Z is currently at a friend's shop, F&D Autocare where they will be putting it all together for me, or as much as they can before I come back home. here are some of the parts I have gathered up during this past year...

ACT clutch...

ebay turbo manifold...

t67 turbo custom built from usedturbos.net

Precision 46mm WG...

Tial BOV...

Precision 780cc injectors...

Greddy fuel rail, Walbro 255, and weld-on rear sump for the fuel tank...

braided fuel lines and fittings...

The RB25...

...and that's all I've done thus far. I bought the RB from a friend and it came with the freddy intake, Mckinney motor mounts, oil pan, new water and oil pump, and other small extra bits. My initial WHP goal is between 400-450, which in my opinion is more than enough for a street driven s30. I still have a few parts left to buy, but it is getting close, and I am getting excited!

Engine bay and whole car will be repainted eventually. Most likely after I get it running, and decide on a color

Did you have to modify your strut tower to fit that? I also removed the hood latch like you did, but i riveted blind nuts in the firewall so i can bolt it on.

I haven't got the RB running yet, but as far as the craftsmanship of it... It looks pretty durable. The steel is the same thickness as other expensive manifolds and the welds look good, and it fit like a glove.

I've been in Germany for the past year and a half... So the car sat for a while, then I traded for a friend's LS1 s14... Then we recently traded back haha, and I am still in Germany, and the Z sits again... The good news is that my friend, Josh got her running, tuned, and dynod, but still needs some TLC. Will be getting out of the Army in a little over a year, so I guess the project will pick back up then. https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=10CTFvg ... e=youtu.be
