Did a quick search and didn't see another thread like this so I'll go ahead and start one in hopes of it growing and helping other S30 owners out there, any S130 tips/tricks are fully welcome too. Some of the more complex write ups I'll leave link to HybridZ so as not to take away from them or misquote them. Feel free to add to this so that we can all benefit. If you own a S30 and you're not in the midwest then you know our cars are getting harder to find in junkyards, harder to find parts for at stores, and when you do find the parts they're getting more expensive. I hope this will help some other S30 owners out there save a few bucks without sacrificing quality for your ride.

S30

I can't say the exact year because frankly I don't care about Kia enought to know but I'm using the door rubber from the front doors off an 02ish generation Kia minivan as well as the hatch rubber for my hatch. The door rubbers fit great but you'll have to trim a little at the bottom to get your door sills to fit since the rubber is pretty thick. The hatch rubber will also need to be trimmed but it fits great and seals great too. I haven't gotten anything yet for the outter hatch seal.

My car didn't have a side mirror when I got it so I went to the junkyard looking for cars with door mounted mirrors. I ended up getting one from a fox body mustang (can't remember if it was hardtop or convertible). The mounting holes are just a hair from fitting in the stock location, you'll have to open up one hole about a quarter inch. The mirror will sit an angle leaning towards the door, you can use it just fine at this angle but it doesn't look quite right, it will need a spacer or to be trimmed to sit at the proper angle.

I have been reading about S130 brake booster in a S30 but cannot confirm. Seems to be that the larger booster will hit the clutch MC but I'm automatic so should work for me.

I'll update this later with pictures later on

I'll also try to link to some of the write ups about the toyota brakes, honda windshield wiper motor, 240sx rear caliper conversion and whatever else I can find.

S130 booster won't fit N S30 without modifications, the S130 master will work in the S30, this is generally done to compensate for upgraded callipers

long snout R200 diffs form and S12, S30, S130, Z31 are all interchangable with simply changing the pinion flange (the 88ss viscous is the exception)

Thanks for the correction on the booster evil, do you know what kind of modifications are needed to make it fit?

I was thinking I was going to need to hit up the junkyard for a S130 booster but after removing my booster I found that the vacuum leak was coming from the hole where the rod comes out and connects to the brake pedal. There's a little felt washer that seals that area so I covered it on both sides with grey RTV and packed some more RTV behind it, so far it's working pretty well. Was pretty pissed that one night I had to drive home using the E-brake because everytime I touched the brakes the engine would about stall.

scary, the s130 booster bolt spacing is different, and I believe 2 of those holes hit a brace in the s30 pedal box

Ah, yes I can see that now because when I pulled the booster I did see a funky looking brace all around the brake pedal assembly.

It'd be great if we could get some input from people with experience with different kinds of seats but, I guess you can make just about anything fit with enough effort. There's a local Z here with S2000 seats and it's badass!
