The can-bus wiring.

The ECU is integrated with the TCU, BCM, gauges, immobilizer, all of the harnesses, and everything else in the car.

You can't just "drop in" a different drivetrain in a modern car, unless you're planning to completely gut it and start over.

Save your money and buy a 3.5 Alty sedan (or a G coupe) if you want more power.

Do you think the 3.5 will be quicker than the 2.0L f20c?

Our VQ35 would definitely be faster than a F20c in a altima coupe

I'm not going to say this is impossible (just about anything is possible with time and money). But I don't think this would be worth the time or the money. As AZhitman said, the car would have to be completely rewired. Not to mention the fact, what are you going to use for a drivetrain? The s2000 is rear wheel drive. So besides fabrication of motor and transmission mounts, you would have to make a whole rear wheel driveline and differential fit in a car that is front wheel drive, and not set up for any of this. I would say get the 3.5, or buy an s2000 for 5 times as much money as the Altima. This project would be a nightmare from day one. Speed is based off many more factors that HP alone, but you are looking at what? around 240hp at the motor with a stock f20c and the 3.5 VQ35DE V6 is around 270hp at the motor. Stock to stock you are going to have more power with the Nissan v6.

The other thing is, if you don't have a few builds (including custom fabrication) under your belt, this is all just conjecture.

Sell the AC and go buy a fast car.

The upside? You came to the right place to ask - we don't blow smoke up anyone's butt, and our staffers have literally hundreds of builds & swaps in their backgrounds. If an idea is silly, we'll tell ya. :)

p.s. Your AC is sharp - You could easily offload it and buy a clean G35C 6MT and have a car that would wax a stock F20c car.

Wow...this engine swap would be insane for obvious reasons! :yesnod If you like the coupe, see if you can locate a 6spd 3.5 coupe or just get a different car that's faster than the 3.5 or S2000 altogether. :dblthumb:

Or you can swap out the Trans in the 2.5 and pop in a 6 speed from the 3.5 and build on the 2.5 the only thing holding back the 2.5 from power is the Trans. I'm seriously thinking of doing this in the future I've been doing research for awhile now and have came to the conclusion that the 2.5 has potential. I mean I don't want the 3.5 because it's a "V" who wants a v in a tuner? The 2.5 is an inline 4 so it has a nice sound and if you're serious about performance you can rebuild the internals new injectors etc.
