Everyone has heard a rumor or something about that. All I have to say is don't believe everything you read in "Stupid Street". We all wish they would bring the 240 back, the market is ripe for a rwd 4 banger that kicks @$$ but it will most likely never happen especially with all the success the 350Z is having. A "250sx" would seriously hurt the 350Z's sales and nissan would be right back in that boat they were in 8 years ago :-(

I havnt heard any of these rumors, but, I would like to see it happen. I doubt it would b/c it would be too much competition with the Z unless they somehow made it cheap, like base at $16000 or something. I think people buy Zs b/c they want a Z, people will buy a 240 b/c they want a 240 or the car fits thier needs and budget. Who knows, with all of the cheap performance orientated 4 bangers out there now (SRT4, Ion Redline, Cobalt, Solstice, etc) they should get a piece of this market!!

they are in it. it is the sentra spec-V

i doubt they will release an S16 here in the states just because it would canablize the sales of their other vehicles.

the auto market in japan is a totaly different ballgame that here in the US.

sorry about posting this thread in the technical part. but here in the issue of super street (augest 2004, pg 64) the article is Tetsu's Tail and i quote " Nissan is making plans on re-releasing the silvai in 2006. with three engine choices. the base qr20de inline-four, the vq23 a compact 2.3L v-6 powerplant, and the new vq25 supercharged. early rumors says that nissan will release it as the new sentra, but the super street reliable sources says it wont. it is likly the platform will be sold in limited numbers sometime early next year. and they dont know what kinda drive terrain it will be." all right.... im sorry about messing up in the first place about putting up the wrong egine specs in the first part of my thread. they've also said that they dunno if it will be hitting the states..... sooooo.... i dunno.........but there you go

Ooo oooh I know what they're gonna do! They're gonna turn the engine the *wrong* way, and hideously over price it!

spec v is still an over weight sentra with 2 many doors. don't kid yourself.

Yeah, I forgot about the specV Sentra. It's FWD though and you can't find the things at the dealer. I was Crown Nissan the other day and they didn't have a single Sentra on the lot. They have tons of Zs though. I don't forsee them bringing the car back unless they got rid of the Sentra.....which would be ok with me :)

That's been floating around for a while. Highly doubt if there is a S16 that it would look like that. From the body line and wheels, I'd say it's a photoshopped G35. As much as I'd like to see another S chassis car, especially in America, no matter what engine they put in there, don't think it will happen. Nissan sport compact is the Spec-V and with the current drifting popularity, the S would probably drive the Sentra Spec-V extinct.

SR20VET?? Nissan abandoned the RWD SR platform many years ago. I dn't think any of their plants are producing SR blocks any more.

All of this is very true, but side by side the 240 destroys the spec-v. Why can't we get something cool like that. A NISSAN 240SX SPEC GEYKJKGSD. I mean that would be cool. I wouldnt buy a spec v . I like the 4 240's I have. As good as it sounds, dont wish for them to mess up a good thing. They started with a very nice 240 and ended with one. Don't let what happened to the awesome rx-7/rx-8........300/350 thing happen to us. What's next a new mitsubishi 3050gt with 50 less horspower than the previous version. Plus we here in the states only get water, where Japan gets alcohol. Sorry about the mumbo jumbo it is late.
