I am replacing my blown T25 with a Garrett GT2871R from Phase2motorsports with the T28 housing. The problem I'm having is finding a way to drop it in easily. P2M sells adapter plates that rotate the compressor inlet and outlet to fit the existing intercooler piping (http://phase2motorsports.stores.yahoo.n ... upiad.html), but this set of stainless steel plates runs about $105. This is an exorbitant amount of money for what they are! Are there any better solutions to this problem other than hacking and customizing my intake and hot pipes?

easiest way is to cut the compressor inlet and outlet and then turn it to where you need it. Then take it to a welder. Very cheap and easy. Or you could have bought the non gt-rs style 2871r. The one with a 3 inch inlet would have been better.

You really only have two choices...cut and weld or you may be able to make piping to fit the position of the inlet and oulet as they are.

I think I might get the non-RS style turbo and use a 90-degree silicone bend for the compressor outlet and get a couple of 45-degree bends and 3" piping for the inlet.

Would that work? Or is there anything else I should know?
