ok i was wondering, what would it take to mount an s15 6-speed on, say, a blacktop s13? would there be any tweaking to get it mounted or would there be anything with the electronics that would prevent mounting it? i would like to have 6th gear but i dont want the cost and the variable valve timing head and cams on the s15 head, so i was wondering if a merger could be done.

My best guess is that you would need the flywheel and 6 speed clutch assembly. Making it fit on the car isnt too hard if you get the driveshaft and rear differential. You can make a custom driveshaft but supposedly the 6 speed doesnt feel too good on the 5 speed differential gearing. And if you get the S15 differential you need to use the S15 half shafts (supposedly).

The OEM part numbers are:30100-89F00 Disk assembly, clutch 9900 yen30210-89F00 Cover assembly, clutch 13500 30223-07S00 Bolt to hold pressure plate to the flywheel 110 30240-07S00 Washer and clutch cover bolt for the pressure plate bolts 160 12310-89F10 Flywheel assembly 57000 32202-B9500 Pilot bushing 170 12315-89F00 Flywheel bolts 290

As for the clutch fork and release bearing, use the S14 SR parts. The rest of the parts used are most likely sourced from an S13 SR manual.

This is of course assuming the flywheel bolt pattern on the back of the S13, S14, and S15 crankshafts are the same. If the S15 is in fact different, then you would need to swap your S13 crankshaft with an S15 crankshaft, but I dont see this as too likely.

ok thanks i would hope they would work alright with a little tweaking since they would be so similar, maybe ill call like heavy throttle and see what they say about getting just an s13 blacktop and just an s15 transmission, then ill hafta get it working with the parts you listed and what not. only other thing if sucessful i would hope i can still get a aftermarket clutch, probably s15 since thats the transmission, but also i would have the s13 and s14 stuff to mix in. ill probably decide whether to push ahead with it once i decide whether all the time and effort would be worth the extra gear, instead of just sticking with the 5 speed and putting money into the engine.

anyway thanks again for the help ill see how it works out
