Hey folks, I had an account on here a long time ago but seems to have gone poof. I had a 95 240sx and was collecting parts before it got wrecked. One of these parts is a S15 helical diff. I now have just recently picked up a 96 300zx with 96k miles on it. I was thinking I could use this S15 diff on my Z32? I'm not sure how long the VLSD will last or if this is even a good idea. I do know it is the same final drive ratio.

Thoughts?

Thanks!

300zx's also come with VLSD. Unless it was an upgraded 1.5 or 2.0 way VLSD, may not be worth it.

Are you sure its Helical? If it is, it should? swap over, for the most part. That would be worth it, but only if helical.

All Z32's came with VLSD which is only slightly better than open. the TT got the larger R230, the n/a got the R200, same carrier as every Z from 75 to present although the housings changed quite a bit. I assume you s15 was the more common R200 and if it's helical it's way better than viscous and worth the swap but will require an n/a z32 subframe to bolt in.

So an na z32 with stock r200 should work with s15 hlsd and output shafts?
