Hi all! I ordered S15 SR20DET engine w/ transmission. I did some research about dis engine and heard lot of bad things and good things about it. My plan was to get S14 SR20 but they want $2,8000. And S15 SR20 , they want $3,200. So, I decided to go w/ S15 SR20. it's only $400 more. And it comes w/ warranty too. They'll send everything, complete kit. Good deal? It takes about 3 or 4 month.

Why don't you tell us what car it's going in, what you plan on doing to it, who you are getting it from, etc, etc. You did make sure to get all the stuff you need with an S15 SR20DET right? like the driveshaft, and the rear end right? There is more stuff you need that add to the complication of the swap that I cannot remember right now. I could be mistaken, but you might also need to havea custom transmission mount made.

I have 1995 240SX. And the people from Garage SPL are gonna work on my car. I made a list wat I need : Engine, S15 6 speed transmission (custom mount), driveshaft, differential, alternator, starter, power steering pump, Crank Angle Sensor, ECU, harness, MAFS.... Am I missing anything? I bought it from Foreign Engines Inc. It's located in Lynnwood, WA.

u need a intercooler for your motor, ie. s15...the intercooler pipes are setup for the motor, not the car, the intake manifold is different (at the least), and an S13 pipe would not line up correctly...you need the s15 IC kit.

ok...but like i said, when i first answered your question....

the kit is not sold for the chassis, it fits the motor, ie S15 kit for s15 motor, doesnt matter what the chassis is....

are you going to read and listen, or do you want to ask the same question a third time?

thanx u bro,one more thing aprox how much does a custom pluming job on a FMIC go for. I saw this sparco FMIC in ebay for 200(no pipes) and most FMIC kits are about 850+ saving a buck or two

its hard to say...depends on what exactly you want...

if you try to get a custom job done, mendrel bent pipes, its going to be expensive...prob wont save you too much, but can possibly

other people just get a custom job done with sections of pipe welded together, its easier than mendrel bending, still gives performance, and saves money, but is ugly as all hell...

or you can get something just pieced together....

just make sure you get mendrel bent pipe, and an estimate before you have someone start the work....

the Kits are for convinience, and the knowledge that everying will bolt on correctly and without much pain....most of the time its worth it, because of the labor cost that go into making the custom piipes and installing them, on top of the cost for the materials ya know...

custom route saves money if you have someone who will do the pipes for you..if your just going to a random place, it prob wont save too much money...

i dont know exact prices though, sorry...

it cost me $600 to have custom mandrel bent IC piping made for my INCON turbo, by SR20DEVELOPMENT, that also included a custom intake pipe that fits the turbo and a Z32 MAF, plus couplers, etc

Ahhhh, yes JapanDirect, should have known. A lot of those exporters in Japan and Australia have some pretty nice prices. Shipping is hell though...cheap to get to the port but pricey from the port to the house, cant forget the customs cost. I was thinking about getting a S13 clip from Australia for 1420USD but as long as it would take to get here, forget it lol.

i should've been more clear in my first, i meant that the price i paid(4400USD) was to get to my front door. i said coast to coast because it was in cali when i bought it and had it shipped to ohio.

their number was 614-372-0824, but they won't take anymore calls or work. the owner there had some problems doing what he wanted to do with the company and had to shut the doors. sucks for him he built some really nice cars.including a 300zx that put down almost 600 at the wheels, several SRswaps, and at one time the fastest auto 1g DSM in the states.
