It's been a looooong time since I messed with an SR, and even then, it was a JDM VE motor for my '95 G20t.

So, I now have a S15 SR sitting on the engine stand in my shop.

Those of you who have refreshed one lately, what's the scoop? Who's got the smoking deal on gaskets, seals, and sensors, and what do you guys recommend I replace before it goes in its new home?

Ive had great luck with FRSPORT in the past I normally just call them. Normally I can talk my way into a discount at least.

As far as what to replace. I know it doesn't matter what engine Im building. That new "looking" water pump leaks on me every single time. So... Id suggest one of those.

I know the fast idle valve is tough to get too and the hoses are normally fossilized.
Rocker arm stoppers were recommended by superstreet as a catastrophic failure prevention if you ever think about turning up an SR.
A buddy of mine went with BC 264in 272ex cams for his in the works. I think its a mistake after reading about this combination. Id prefer a mild "bolt in" cam requiring no degree wheel magic. Then just turn up the boost and fueling.
A while back superstreet did a big spread on the SR to get X HP figure with what bits. Ill see if I can dig that up.

Good stuff.

This one will stay NA, since it's motivating a 1800-lb pickup truck. I just want to make sure it's reliable.

I assumed being out of an S15 it was a turbo model. I stand corrected. Ill keep an eye out.
