This has been covered over and over and over brochacho. Search NICO for "Importing S15". But you're going to find out that its illegal. Sucks, but its true. There are ways to get it here and title it, but its illegal.

There is one way, but you have to be willing to do unspeakable things. You must first purchase a grand am. Then swap the s15 front onto it. Lastly, you must lie to everyone about it. And there you have it, your own street legal s15.

I don't think its illegal, i know of a guy that imports all jdm cars down here in Miami. Skylines, Supra's, Soarers, you name it. The only thing is, its EXPENSIVE. Two of my friends have skylines (R33 of course) !2,000 caah no money plan and no negotiating. The GTR's are obviously more expensive, ranging from 20-30k. Supras are roughly 20 as well. Now Silvia's are actually the same as GTR's to my surprise. 20-35k is alot for a car dude, especially if its 10 years old. Its all legit down here, you go through the dude, have the papers and its all yours depending on how long it takes him to go over to japan and get it.

Grey market is still technically illegal. Just because you know someone who imports JDM models doesn't mean that he's found the magic bullet that everyone else has been searching for to get cars into the states. We have a long and extensive article on the old models of the GT-R and their history of trying to be imported to the states which will also apply to the S15. The long and short of it is, unless someone in the government gets the stick out of their a**, we have to wait out the 25 year grandfather clause.
