hi, I just bought an ecu for an s15 sr20det, i tested it on my friends car. His car has a QT ecu which works fine. I hooked up my NQ ecu to the same car and it would not start. The car cranks and the fuel pump turns on. I was told this ecu was from a turbo car, the numbers are NQ 23710 91F08. What can i do to verify the identity of this ecu and make it work.

thanks steve

QT Ecu

lol are these s15 ecu's or ecu's from another motor?

they are both s15 ecu's. The Qt runs an s15 turbo engine. The Nq turns the fuel pump on and turns over the engine, but doesn't run it.

The NQ is most likely an SR20DE ECU, meaning it won't run your car because there are different I/O's from the SR20DET.

thats true, good point. it seems just like when u plug a ka computer up to a sr the fp primes and turns the motor over but wont fire it off.

I was reading back on a couple things you said, the qt ecu wont start the car or have u jus tried the nq.

You can plug any ECU in to the harness and have the same thing. The starting/charging system are on a completely different circuit then the ECCS...

You can crank a car over all day with the ECU disconnected...
