Hey fellas. I'm new to the page and very happy to be here. I had a noob question about my s15 notch top.

I have a s15 notch top in my 98 240x. I was wanting to now the necessary items i need to get my OBD II to communicate with my computer. I have power but cannot get a connection to get my emissions. What is the proper ECU and other items i need to get a connection so i can pass emissions. I am in Atlanta, GA. Thanks Guys.

I don't think you are going to get many replies. As far as I know, there is no way to get JDM S15 ECU to communicate with the OBDII system in use here in the US for inspections/emissions.

OBDII was not used in Japan until after 2001. If you are or know an electrical engineer who is also a car nut, you could have him make you a "black box" that would go between your SR ECU and the US OBDII plug. But the research required would be enormous and you would have to secure access to some OBDII inspection station device or software.

That's a tough hill to climb.

It's probably easier to move. Or get a 98 KA drivetrain and swap it in to pass.
