OK, did a bunch of searching and found that the S15 diff is an R200 and will fit into and S13 VLSD diff. No one has said for sure if it will go into a normal open diff or not. I am guessing it will since people have put a VLSD into their open diff??

I know you need to use the shafts from the 15 also and keep your original ring gear, but do they mean just the stub shaft or the entire drive shaft??

Is the S15 torsion diff a 1.5 or 2 way?

The output shafts are required, as well as special ring gear bolts. It is neither 1.5 or 2 way. It is a torque biasing diff.

i have one in an (originally) open diff s13 pumpkin, and you need unequal length output shafts(i completly stripped and rebuilt the pumpkin with 4.363 ring+pinion so im not sure if you need the 12-13mm adapter bolts on a normal KA ring gear)

What about the input shaft? Did you use the stock s13 one?

How do you like the diff? Do you think it would function well for drifting, or does it just bias all of the torque to the inside wheel like an open diff does when sliding. If you could answer these questions and give a good writeup of how you like it that would be awesome. Where did you get it from and how much did you pay if you don't mind me asking?

I have one and I love it, but its not the best for drifting but it will work. Try searching hlsd or helical lsd for all the information

if by input shaft you mean the pinion, then you have to match it with the ring gear you use, 4.363 is 48:11, that means 48 teeth on the ring gear, 11 teeth on the input shaft pinioni rebuilt the whole pumpkin with all new bearings, shims and oil seals

unless you meant the part that screws onto the pinion, that the driveshaft bolts to, then yes i reused that

i havnt driven on it yet, (wiring engine now) ask float in the CA forum about that, him, biosehnsucht and i have the same diff now, not sure if bio has his together yet

but it was the gear set that came in s13s (real s13, not Ps13s or Hs13 or Ms13s) it came with the zenki silvia Ks, the Qs (ca18DE) came with a sleightly higher ratio, i think it was 4.4 or something just a little higher than the Ks

supposedly this is how your world of LSDs break down, somebody check me on it if its not 100%

viscous: good cheap entry levelclutch type: best for drifting/draghelical: best for road type racing (circuit, rally, auto-x)

(and i couldnt tell you which is better for what 1.5 or 2 way clutch diffs, because i dont remember off the top of my head, i dont have much interest in just drifting or drag racing)

CJ

edit> and float got his whole setup for $300 (lucky bastard) i paid considerably more (because i left the damn diff on the car when i stripped my silvia)
