i have a s15 helical lsd and i want to put it into my s13...what is needed to make it fit...i have an open diff...will i need to get a new housing...thanks...

I installed an S15 HLSD in my S14 housing. It fits fine. The S13 diff housing is THE SAME as the S14 housing, with the exception of the cover. You will however need the HLSD output shafts. Open diff/VLSD shafts will NOT work.
When you remove the old diff, remember which side the spacers go on, you will use these same spacers, in their normal locations.

I haven't really found out anywhere you can get the halfshafts. Any USDM dealer cannot get them, nor can Courtesy Nissan. I was lucky enough to get the halfshafts with my diff. There was a good thread on http://www.zilvia.net about the output shafts, but I still haven't found a source for them unless you can somehow get ahold of a dealer in Japan.
As far as power goes, I don't know how much the HLSD can take, but I'm sure there are some pretty powerful S15's in in other countries with the stock diff still on.
