I am almost sure that this question has been asked before, however i will ask again for my own benefit and also for others that might want to know.My question is this. How easily does the S15 turbo bolt up to the s13 redtop motor, and also does it require any significant changes or modifications? Furthermore, what kind of upgradeds (if any) would be required to do the swap effectifly? And lastly, is it efficient, and if so how?

It's an easy swap. You have to bend the oil and coolant lines around a little bit to make them fit. Also, your stock inlet pipe won't work unless you cut it off the flange, rotate it, and have it welded back together. If you look hard, you can find the JDM S15 intake pipe, so it'll be a bolt on. Also, the outlet pipe is at a little bit different angle, so you might have to modify your hotpipe. Mine works ok, but then again, it's a muffler shop special. Other than that, just be sure to get new gaskets while you're at it.

As far as efficiency goes, i don't know what you want to know there.

The turbo extention also needs one of the holes redrilled if your going to use a s13/s14 extention.

Just make sure you get the early S15 model turbo. The later model S15 turbo is an S14 turbo.

The early S15's got 91F00 series turbos that are equivilant to BB HKS Garret turbo's. They switched back to the S14 (75F00) turbo because the S15 turbo's were costing too much. The S14 turbo's did have a slightly lower output but the stock boost may have been increased.

You have to really look at the serial numbers on ebay turbos. I have seen real S15 turbos that have the 91F00 serial number. But I have also seen S15 turbos on ebay that have the 75F00 serial number.

What I got out of the thread is that the latest, most recently produced "S15 turbos" are journal bearings. Only the earlier produced, "91F00 series" are ball bearing.

It depends on who you buy it from. Nissan T25's and T28's (and all the Skyline turbos) have a Nissan serial number. This will vary from the factory Garret number and from other numbers that may be selling turbos.

T25 from an S13 SR20DET = 14411 50F00T28 from an S14 SR20DET = 14411 75F00/14411 69F00/ 14411 82F01 depending on year and continent.T28 from an S15 SR20DET = 14411 91F00

I appreciate that. There's this guy wanting to sell me what he claims is a gt28r, and the serial number has 69F00 on it. Is it what he says it is? Thanks again

Oh, and he wants $570 shipped. What do you think?

HAHA, not a chance its a GT2835R. The 69F00 is an S14 turbo, the S14 turbo is about 66% of a GT2835R.

S14 T28 = max of 280HPGT2835R = max of 420HP
