Is it possible to put a s15 6spd transmission on a s13 redtop motor?, are they direct swaps? what would need to be modified. I did a search and found nothing!

You would need the driveshaft, differential (speed sensor is in diff.), and output shafts.

Here's what it says on Heavy Throttle's website.

Additions: 6 speed manual transmission. The 6 speed cannot be used on the S13 and S14 motors, and uses a different driveshaft. Speed sensor is located in the differential.

The S15 6-speed DOES bolt onto the S13 and S14 motors, becuase the S13 and S14 have the same transmission, and the S14 and S15 have the same engine block and head. Therfor, the bolt pattern on the bellhousings are the same. As was mention earlier, the speed sensor is the problem, its located in the differential as opposed to the gear box in the S13 and S14. Gearing is also a issue, the S15 transmission is geared such that you would not get good results with it unless you use the S15 diff. As a bonus however, the S15 differenial is a helical limited slip unit.

So the breakdown would be:-S15 transmission-S15 clutch-S15 or custom driveshaft-S15 rear diff with output shafts-Wiring for speed sensor

Other concerns might be:-a custom transmission mount-modification to rear subframe to accept S15 HLSD-Length modification to S15 driveshaft or custom driveshaft if the stock one is 2 peice.-the clutch slave cylinder might be different
