I have a 1995 240sx. I am installing an S15 engine and 6 speed transmission in it. I am using a Dakota Digital converter for the speedometer. I need help figuring out how to set the converter. Any help would be appreciated.

Not to be a butthole but why are you using the weakest transmission possible made by Nissan? S13, S14, and Z32 transmissions are waaaaaaaaay stronger than the S15 6 speed. plus 6th is really only used for highway cruising to save gas. As far as your question i would look up dakota digitals information on the exact item you have, you could even call them and get their opinion or at the least they could steer you in the right direction.

I am using that transmission because it came with my S15 engine and differential. Personally, I like the extra gear. Plus, it's unique because most 240s don't have the 6 speed. Why do you say that it is weak? Why would they put their weakest transmission on their most powerful 240 engine? That doesn't make sense.

Have you not read any reviews on the transmission from the S15? Most all people hate it and swap it for one of the transmissions I listed above or the go to a dog box trans. Put plainly and simply. They're weak. The power difference between an S14 and S15 are not really that drastic actually and the S15 actually has less torque.

S14 217HP 203FT/LB
S15 245HP 202FT/LB

Thats not some wild guess either. Those are the factory rated spec's from Japan.

1 ft-lb of difference is inconsequential. Have you ever driven a 240 with a full s15 drivetrain swap? It has plenty of power and the 6 speed transmission is fine. I haven't seen any evidence that the 6 speed is weaker, besides haters like you saying that it is weaker. Don't knock it until you've tried it.

Yeah actually, I have driven a S15 "complete swap" and it feels just like any other SR but with some cams thrown in it. Im not here to debate with you I was just giving you my opinion on the topic. Get on any english speaking forum outside of the U.S.A ie Australia, England, New Zealand and youll see for yourself they are weak. Even Option/B.M.I/Drift Tengoku videos (I'm hoping you know what those are) True "JDM" (hate the term) cars swap the S15 transmission for something more beefy. You can research it yourself... I already have. I'm out

I don't care about some random guy's opinion about my transmission. I wanted to have a full s15 drivetrain swap, so I did it. My transmission is fine. I'm flattered that you are so concerned about the strength of my transmission, but I assure you that I am fine.

S15 trans weakness IS A MYTH. I've sold / installed dozens - no issues. One drift guy broke his axle and trans mount - 6 speed was fine. The "weakness" is all theoretical BS in my opinion.

Also - I've setup the Dakota Digital speedo several times - but they changed the design and I have not used the newer one. They do have good customer service though - give them a call.
