Hey everybody, been on nico club forums for quite a few years now, never had anything to contribute but have started up my KA24DET build and want to share it with you guys. This will be a great place to track my progress and a perfect way to reflect on my build once its complete. I'll be going with:

PTE 6266, AEM Methanol/Water Injection, MSPNP2, Built Block, Kelford 272 Cams + Springs + Retainers & Valves, Z32 Transmission + Excessive VG Mount & Driveshaft, Custom Intake + Q45 Throttle Body, 1000cc Injectors & Walbro 400lph Pump and much more.

Plan is to make 550whp + on pump gas. So here it goes. :)

Ill start off with my first Nissan 240sx. It was a 1989 KA24ET, T25 Turbo, Tuned ECU running Methanol injection & 91 octane.

I sold the S13 about a year ago because I fell in love with the S14 body and wanted one...Badly. So after months of looking I finally found one and picked it up. Its a 1998 Nissan 240sx LE in really good condition. Everything on the vehicle when I bought it was stock apart from wheels, intake and some crappy blown shocks.

Wow GREAT find with the S14, looks really good. I don't believe I've seen one in that color before ;- ). How many miles does she have, and yes please keep us updated on your build!

Yeah the interior only comes on LE for 97 & 98 I believe. When I bought it it had 220,xxx km but seems to been babied and garage kept its whole life, hard to find any rust on it. Thanks :)

Good buy for 6 grand. My zenki was 5 with 140,000 on it. All stock except for wheels. I wasn't too concerned about the mileage though since I rebuilt it. Solid choice going with the Cosworth HG on the ka!

Thanks man :) Yea I wasn't concerned with milage either (240,000km's) considering body and chassis was mint and engine is being completely rebuilt.

Spent about 3 hours in traffic to go pickup a Z32 Transmission and some other bits. Engine internals, gaskets, fuel pump and a few other things on the way aswell...pics soon!

So for now going to keep rear brakes stock and then go z32 30mm up front once I find a set.

Spent a ton of time degreasing and wire wheeling the calipers to get them ready for paint

Image

I built an electrolysis tank and put the rotors and caliper parts in there for a couple days and let me tell you the majority of the rust comes off like BUTTER! I love it, I then dipped some pieces in zinc chromate bath to get the rest of it off. The parts literally came out like new. Ill post some pics of the setup later if some of you are not familiar with it cause I highly recommend it.

Image

Painted the rotors and then got them turned. Painted the calipers as well.

Plan is to build up this block so that I can still drive my car until I un insure it for the winter and start tearing things out.

Finished the tear down yesterday. Degreased and powerwashed the block and gave it a bath in wd-40 and got it on the stand.

piston #3 melted should clean up with a 0.020 over bore and hone.

Image

Got the block up on the stand and did a bit more cleaning and took a grinder to some of the casting imperfections.

Nice project! Be sure to drop a video of her running. BTW I thought you can't paint the Brake Rotors or do anything to the surface of The rotor
