I am in the market for an s14. Around here you can get a s14b (round headlights) within my budget. I also have found some s14a's around here within my price range, but they are all automatic :(. I really like the a's front end, so here are my options:

-Get the b and do a s15 or s14a front end swap= $$$ (if I can't get it at a junkyard)-Get the s14a and do the SR20DET (which I plan on doing regardless) with a 5 spd (not the s15). My only problem with this would be trying to change the car from auto to manual.

I like the second idea better, but I'm not sure how hard it would be to make it manual.

Well, the "S14B" is just collectively refered to as the S14, I would assume you are refering to the 95-96. It would be less expensive to do an auto-manual swap than to swap the front end, plus, then you'd have to paint everything as well, you would probably be better off cost wise to just buy a S14a ( 97-98.. ) and then swap the engine... Good Luck

I find it interesting that the '97-'98s are the S14a, whereas the earlier '95-'96 models are the S14b.

Anyway, just buy a S14b 5-speed. I love mine. :)

I feel your pain though. There are two dealerships around here with '97s for sale...one red, one black, both very nice...just auto. Sad stuff. :(

I'm from Charleston too and have to put up with all the domestic crap. Nobody appreciates imports except all those stupid yuppies and their euros.
