What is the difference?

I thought they are the same it's like aka S14a, aka S14.5, aka MCS14???

I have heard that people say when you convert your S14 to a S15 it becomes S14.5.... I dunno... I read that in some magazines as well..

so if you guys know, please enlighten me!

Well, magazines are stupid. S14a and S14.5 have always been Minor Change S14s in my book.

hey repo, maybe you can give me an opinion real quick. do you think ace bandage wrap would catch on fire from exhaust? i was wrapping up a temporary exhaust leak, but then i thought, maybe that's a fire hazard.

not that anyone payed attention, but yep, it was a fire hazard. very, very bad idea.

the s14a stands for s14 a=after changes which is also the same as the s14mc the mc=minor change ...both relate to the difference btw the 95-96 and the 97-98 s14 aka the front end and taillights... the s14.5 is when you convert the s15 front end and engine into a s14 where the s14 is still left hand drive

you see.. that's what the magazines say it is...

but going with that theory.. would a S13 with the S15 front end and engine be S13.5??? I don't think so... so that can not be true.... I think it is S14,5 because the front is different form S14.. since only half of the car is dif... it is called S14.5...

The magazine can blow me. They made it up for their subscribers, It's always, and will always be, a strawberry face conversion.

ehhh i just call them s13 with s15 face or s14 with s15 face. as for the difference between the 2 american model s14s i just say early model of late model. works for me.

apart from cosmetic changes between the s14 and s14a. the s14a has a T28 ball bearing turbo which is the same as the S15.

It's not the same T28, at least not in Japan, mayhaps in Australia. : )

he is right, this is right. or we can use the acutal japanese words for it. the s14 zenki is the 95-96. the s14 kouki is the 97-98. s14.5 would be any s14 with an s15 front end. ive never seen an s13 coupe with an s15 front end, but that would just be a strawberry conversion and same with a 180sx. also an s15 with a 180sx front (popup lights) is referred to as an s1580.
