You can purchase a data-bus adapter that will decode the factory signals and produce an accessory voltage for your new radio. It will also generate the vehicle warning chimes--another function of the factory radio. These adapters are fairly expensive.

Otherwise you'll have to extend the new head unit's red wire to an alternate source of key-switched power; ie, at the fuse box or ignition switch harness :laugh:
