So I recently had a Redtop swapped into my S14 and I outsourced the wiring .

I was wondering what are supposed to blink on my front bumper? Just the side markers and front bumper ? Are the corner lights just "parking lights"?

Also this is a Canadian model so I belive we were supposed to have daytime running lights unlike US Models , soooo I dont think my corner lights EVER lit up?

Next question : If I was to shave the front bumper blinkers would I have to then make the corner lights blink ? Has anyone wired this before? ( probably pretty easy just asking )

when you click the headlight switch one time, the corner lights and siemarkers should come on.

the lights in the bumper are turn signals.

On my car, I decided to just take the wires from the turn signals and splice them into the wiring for the corner light, so those became my turn signals and I had no parking lights anymore.

s14 silvias have both the bumper signal and corner signals blinking. The corner light beside the headlight just lights up normally, with the first click of the light switch.

My S14's daytime running lights are the headlights themselves. When the e-brake comes off, they light up. Therefore your corner lights probably won't light up unless you turn the lights switch to the first position, like Brian said, since they're not DRL.

I heard about foglights being DRL before but I don't have those, even though mine is an LE model which should have them. It could be that the bumper was replaced and the DRL were rewired to be the headlights, because there's something wrong with my DRL lights and one light comes on the way it's supposed to and the other is barely illuminated, almost as if it's burnt out, but when I switch the full headlights on they both work fine (in fact, that one is even brighter).

I'm going to step out of the discussion now.

You guys are all from Canada it seems. I guess the lighting may be different... Silvias too.

What I posted simply went for US based S14s.

The amber lights on the side of the bumper? Those blink since they're your turn signals. The corner lights light up and don't blink.

for USA cars

the big clear oval light in the front of the bumper is the turn signal. The only time it lights up is when the signals are on.

The yellow light on the side of the bumper is a light that illuminates as a sidemarker. It does not blink. ever.

The clear light right next to the headlight is another light that works exactly the same as the sidemarker. It will never blink (unless you rewire it to do so)
