s14 with s13 blacktop

hi, this is my first post , just bought the car already swapped and there are some things I need help with... Ive done 2 days of searching and I have found no one with the same problems

1) my temp gauge and speedometer aren't working and the person that did the swap hasn't been able to get them to work . I'm not the only case here

2) my shifter seems to be to far to the right.. engaging 5th and reverse is difficult... If i remove the plastic around the shifter I then have enough space to the right to shift normally
