s14 WINDOW PROBLEM NNED HELP ASAP

IVe searched and i saw another thread below me but i dont want to threadjack.Anyways mines a 96...passenger window works fine, but the drivers side window is stuck all the way down.When i press the window down or up, it doesnt have that click feel anymore...also when i do press it, i hear a weiiiin weeeinnn noise, which is prob motor.

ANyways when i had my car at the body shop i guess a technician checked it out for free and he said it was the Regulator and possibliy switch....Can anyone confirm....as why it would be the regulator??????

I just need to get this fixed before i start school...and some broke desperate college student jacks the stuff in my s14.!thanks
