I think that I have come to the end of my mechanical knowledge. I had a local shop trying to troubleshoot but it has been there for a few months and they don't seem to have time for it. If it doesn't sell, maybe I'll tow it back to my house and give it another shot.

Dont sell it man, Im sure Tim would be more than willing to help you out for a case of beer or perhaps a reach around?

But in all honesty get it sorted, screw local shops. Get good and drunk with a few Alabamians of this board and get that thing sorted!

No, Keith is close to you. I am 90 miles away. Still though, close enough to help for sure. What all is the problem exactly, and what have you done to try and fix it?

I'll try to keep this short and bring you up to speed. KA died. Bought CA from Osaka... lesson learned. Wrong ECU and cut harness. Obtained ECU and stripped apart the harness. Downloaded the FSMs for the chassis (s14) and the motor (CA). Wired it myself using the diagrams. Obtained ignitor and made dropping resistor. Would turn over and got spark but no fuel. Bought new CAS. Towed to my wife's dad's shop (general mechanic). They found a discrepancy with my wiring. Now it will crank but runs extremely rich (billowing black smoke). They now believe that they are out of ideas. I'm not sure what their diagnostics entailed. I'm not even sure that I would trust their results. If I did get it towed back here, what diagnostics would I check? fuel pressure? timing? ecu codes? I'm not sure where to go from here. I hate to sell it but I would much rather have a car that runs. I need an outlet for my automotive itch. I've been reduced to autocrossing my CR-V.

Sure you just don't have an injector stuck open? It is fouling ALL of the plugs? Is the MAFS OK? Have you checked the ecu for codes?

I just got a replacement MAF. Don't know if the shop had hooked it up yet. I need to get the car back to my place so I can check these things. How would I know if an injector is stuck open?

Let these guys help you out. These guys really know their stuff. They have helped me out of a jam or two.

It would be sad to see another CA project go down.

That MIGHT cause over fueling I guess, but I would check electrical things first.

Double and triple check ALL of the grounds as well. They can cause all kinds of screwy problems.

I'll sell it if someone hands me $2500 before I can fix it. If I fix it, I'm keepin' it.
