Can someone please post up pictures of S14 VSS. I need it to replace my S13 VSS so my 180sx type-x cluster can read right. SR20DET or DE, supposed to be the same.
I got one from auto parts store, and want to make sure I have the correct one. Didn't come with the gear. And there is a piece of little metal rod, guess it should go in side the gear once I get it.
Unless I have the wrong VSS, parts store gave me front pads for 300zx when I requested rear. And the dont sell rear brake shoes, but the do sell rear brake hardware kit (for brake shoes) So I wouldn't be surprised if it's the wrong part they gave me.
By the way what color is the plastic gear at the end of the sensor and tooth count.
Think there is a difference between auto and manual.
I need info on the manual (5speed) trans VSS.
Here are some pics I took (sorry cell photos)
Here is a link to Napaonline website, http://www.napaonline.com/Mast...ensorh ... st...ensor
these are from '99 Nissan Altima, part#ECHVSS725 is for manual trans, and ECHVSS726 is for auto trans. Reason is that USDM 240sx(S14) with KA24DE uses same sensor as JDM S14 SR20DET/DE (both with manual trans).
If Altima sensor/gear would be same as JDM S14, than I would get it to use the plastic gear on my sensor.
By the way I was at the Junkyard, I came across an Altima, I couldn't get the sensor out because it was stuck in there. But the Altima sensor plug fits 240sx(S14) VSS sensor, meaning they could be same/or close to. And S13 VSS is totally different from ether one.
How is the plastic gear held onto the sensor, does it use some king of pin, or a C-clip (circlip) to hold it onto sensor?
Any help is appreciated, just make sure you stay on subject.
Thanks.
