alright, i searched already and found nothing but i'm wondering if i can use a plug from another nissan car for an s14 speed sensor. i recently acquired an s14 vss but it does not have the plug for wiring. so now i just need the plug, and thought it'd broaden my search if a plug from another nissan worked. If anyone can shed any light on this and help me out i'd appreciate it. thank you.

Comet, I have that plug just chillen here if you want it. I cut it off my harness because I have a Z32 trans now and the Sr and Z32 are completely different from each other. You'll have to pin the wires out to lengthen them though... Email me with your address and I'll drop it into the mail for you.

Go to car quest. Purchase a GM weather plug. Put one part of the plug on the vss, put the other part on the harness. It may not be Nissan OEM, but it will work just fine.

Comet, are you serious man? That blows dude... I'm sorry, I should've put it in a heavier package. I didn't insure it, I just sent it through regular mail because I didn't think there would be an issue...

You can't do that with the S14 VSS, the plug is built into the speed sensor, so that the harness just clips in...

Does anyone know if a plug from an Altima harness will work? I know it has the same type of connection at the speed sensor. I guess that just gives me an excuse to go to the junkyard.

Isn't this what an s14 vss looks like?

Just a quick google search.

Negative... Atleast not on the Sr S14 trans... But yes, you are right, if his is like that he could even just use spade connectors and wrap them in electrical tape or shrink wrap.

I don't want to make any assumption on the vss plug style because frankly I've not paid enough attention to be certain on it's look. Whatever the vss look like, it probably has terminals either mounted to the sensor itself or off of a harness. Use a slip connector for wiring purposes. You can either run it straight to the harness or to generic plug. Whatever you like. You know what wires go where, just need to get the wires together, that's all.

I believe WC is looking for a weatherproof plug type connection (please correct me if I am wrong WC). So, the question is, do any other Nissan, etc. vehicles use this plug connector. I would be willing to bet that the answer is yes. For reference, here is an s14 speed sensor and associated plug connector:

diggles is absolutely correct. i thought of the spade idea but i don't trust it, and it'd be a b**** if i ever have to unplug the spades then make sure i hook them up right, yadda yadda.
