S14 VLSD Options?

I'm soon getting an S14... with a blown differential. At this point, my concern is getting it drivable ASAP. The diff was originally welded, but locked up going down the freeway. Big shocker, right? I'm wondering what LSD's are as easy as being a complete bolt-on.

I looked over that page, but I've found so much contradicting info already. My S14 doesn't have ABS. All J30's have ABS, and someone said they had to use a different driveshaft for theirs to work. It was a 97 J30 VLSD, but I'm wondering if it's really different from a 95 or 96 J30 VLSD.

Man I'm so confused.

1995-96 J30's have the same pattern as the 240SX, all that is needed are the J30's two long support bolts from near the drive shaft and the washers that go with them. Some people say you need to swap your regular 240SX drive shaft for a shaft from a ABS equipped model, but mine has been fine for 3 years now no problems...

IIRC, some say it is necessary to install an ABS driveshaft and others say it is not required.

Sorry, I have not researched specifics on the '97 J30 VLSD. Everything I have read deals with '91-'96 diffs. It might be best to just call the Infiniti dealership....that is if you have a good parts manager in your area. Hope I could help and good luck
