s14 trunk rattle

hello! i notice my trunk has been rattling as of late and it is louder with the OEM wing than without, any ideas as to what to do to stop the rattling? thanks!

OMG! my trunk has been rattling like crazy and i was about ready to post this exact thread. i did make my own padded stopper type things to keep pressure on the trunk lid which reduced the sound but now my stoppers are wearing out and the sound is increasing. i cant stand it. it wouldnt be that bad but i take rides in my friends' cars and they make no noise so it makes me made. not to mention other things rattle such as the interior parts on the doors which also rattle when the bass hits. ive even tried adjusting the latch on the trunk but that doesnt work. what did work was placing duck tape around the metal part that the latch on the trunk lid clamps onto but this resulted in the trunk being difficult to open with the key and trunk release lever.

i took out the 2 metal rods that are used to pop the trunk up and keep it open. the rattling has almost completly stopped. i think maybe the latch rattles just a bit. it isnt very noticable though.
