S14 trunk cable broken . new cable or lock?

My trunk release cable on my s14 broke and my key doesnt turn the lock. Whats the best method on opening the truck, Putting new cable in or buy used lock with key. I already got the trunk open but i would like to get this fixed cause my battery is located in the rear.

Flip a coin, both will accomplish the same thing, but I think that I would figure out why lock is jammed first, it might be a simple fix and not cost you anything but a little bit of time.(could possibly be what caused the cable to break as well)

Well if the key is not working it I would say both

Spray some lubricant on the hinge (inside the trunk) Sometimes my key won't turn when I try to unlock it from the outside.
