I recently swapped out the transmission on my s13 1990 240sx. the transmission that i put on is off of my friends 95 s14 with the ka24de. since the swap, the car has been running fine, but there are a few things i need help with. The first and most major problem i cant figure out is this strange fuel cut while im driving. it never occurs under 3000rpm. to get the car up past 3000rpm while on the freeway is quite the task, it takes alot of feathering the throttle. It runs strong thru the first three gears if i launch, redline, and shift fast, but at the top of third or sometimes middle of fourth or fifth gear it will die until the rpms go back down to 3000. When we did the swap we didnt connect the wiring harness (on the transmission) and we also didnt connect the speedometer. So i also have to deal with never knowing how fast im going, no cruise control, no back-up lights. If anyone has any good advice or has dealt with the same thing please help me out!!

Possible speed sensor measuring differences between the S14 transmission sensor and the ECU.

switch the sensors from your s13's transmission to the s14's and that might solve your problem.

I think the spedo not being connected is the problem. On my '89 the speedo didn't work all the time. When it did work everything was fine. When it didn't, I couldn't go past 3k. I replaced the speedo so it works all the time like it should and have had no problems since.

Remove the 2 connectors that are on the middle of the transmission

From front to back they are

Neutral switchTop gear sensor (4th)Overdrive sensor (5th)ReverseFor the speedo, if you change the sensor, check that the gear is the same color (color notes type of wheel) if not swap the gear too.

I am sure that both spped sensors are the same for all 240
