ok awesome. so it will work. what about my speed sensor? do i just use the one out of my current transmission or do i need a s14 one? will i have cel codes with my new transmission?RustspecS13 wrote:I used a low mileage s14 transmission in my sohc for over a year. Its all exactly the same except the bell housing has a sensor in it for the s14. On my s13 I took out that sensor and threw it out, and made a small cover for it and used the same bolt to hold it in.
No issues no worries.

You want s13 dust boot. They are slightly different.Adam240sx wrote:what bout the dust boot? id really just like to know if i can swap the internals from the s14 transmission to my s13 transmission???
so should i just fill the hole with something? what do you mean by shave it?and my driveshaft will it work fine with the back of the s14 transmission? and do i need a s14 or s13 throwout bearing? i appreciate all the help that everyone has posted. any other tips/help you can give would be great....94_240sx wrote:

I leave the crank angle sensor on the bellhousing and shaved it instead of getting a plug for it.
There's no point of swapping he internals. It would be too much trouble for you unless you want to replace bearings and stuff to rebuild it.
I used a transmission from 95 for my 94 s13. Worked perfect.
awesome. this is good news. thanks alex. well since its pretty much the same. mabey i should just swap the internal gears? and call it a day. or not just have to see when i do it. and thanks again everyone else...RustspecS13 wrote:The bell housing, the tail shaft, the shifter its self, the weight, the internals, the mounting points, are all the exact same. The only difference is the hole in the top of the s14 transmission, which you have to seal some way. I just made a oval shaped piece with one hole on one side for a bolt to hold it in. Easy.
Even the 89-90 and 91-98 clutch is the exact same TOB and pilot bushing and all.
And use your s13 speed sensor, bolts in NP.
