s14 transmission in s13 i thinks somethings wrong

So I pulled my transmission out of my s13 and replaced it with a s14 one I bought locally. When I checked out the transmission it was completely fine, went in and out of gear turned well in every gear now that its on the car it will only go into 5th and reverse, I'm about ready to pull my hair out I need to get my car out of this house by the end of the week.

Why would this happen seriously.

i guess from what Ive read the trans is bad but wth it only has this problem when I put it up into the car, I'm sure we all know that swapping trannys on a 240 isnt exactly the funnest thing ever.

Somebody please shed some light on this situation please I'm really starting to get frustrated.
