The transmission in my '93 S13 went out, so I bought another transmission that was out of a '97 S14.I took the broken transmission out of my S13 a few nights ago and when I set it next to the new one from the S14 I noticed a few differences.

There's a sensor hole on my S13 transmission that isn't there on the S14. Where am I supposed to plug in that sensor?

There a hole on the edge of the S14 transmission bellhousing that isn't there on the S13 transmission and I don't know what it's for.

Here's pics:

S13 transmission

S14 transmission, no hole for sensor

S14 transmission

Any help would really be appreciated. Thanks

the hole in the bellhousing from the s14 transmission i think its the ckp (crank position sensor). you don't use that for your s13

as far as the other one. have no idea, are you sure the s14 transmission is not an auto? that sensor maybe the 5th gear sensor that governs the speed for the 5 speed and i think the auto transmission don't have it.

it sounds right cause thats how people remove the speed limiter is by using an auto ecu. but i could be wrong

hey man i did the same swap about a year ago...i left the sensor thats missing on the s14 out...no codes were thrown or anything like that.

As for the hole on the bellhousing, yea that u gotta plug with something. I used a thin sheet of metal and bent it over the hole, over the bellhousing.

damn, i forgot what we used to hold it there haha, my bro helped me with it. if i remember ill get back to you but you gotta plug the hole on the bellhousing. That much i know

ok so it was a small bolt that held the metal over the hole. There should be a small little bolt hole so we found a bolt and it fit and worked so hope that helps!

The missing switch is the Top Switch, or 3rd gear switch.

The one on top of the bellhousing is the ODBII crank angle sensor.

Great, I've got to order another throwout bearing because the one that came with the clutch kit is off center. Stupid manufacturing errors...But when that comes in I should be able to put it all back together!
