Dont just go on what you've "heard", do some searching.

If you can afford a bit more there are MUCH better options.

as for anecdotal evidence, I have had megan streets for 2.5 years. Raced on the track and autocross every weekend during the summer, and have stood up to Wisconsin's bad roads for one winter. Its not JUST the coils, and it's not a full hearty endorsement either, but i have won 2 season championships and rookie of the year on my megans

You do realize that there is a whole gamut of coilover setups you could be considering besides just these two, right? Plus, there is nothing Tein offers that matches Megan's adjustability in that price range. Quality is a different story however. Read thru lots of coilover threads to get a better sense of what all your options are and which you with best work for you...

I've never heard that before.

Tein has more R&D than Megan does. And it shows. Tein also have decent customer service, in that they can rebuild their own dampers if needed. I dont think Megan has that type of support.

BUT, Megans are cheap. I know several people tracking and dailying them. Their reliability seems okay.

both will give you a decent drop that you'll like.

imo, you may or may not be more satisfied with the valving on Teins than the megans though.

If I were you [and I highly recommend this], I'd try to do a ride along with someone that has either coilover so that you can get a feel on what you're getting yourself into. My cousin had the megan streets on his s13... I can't say I like the ride that very much compared to other coilovers.
