Sup everyone,

I have a 96 ka-t that I recently did a full build on. In the process I swapped out transmissions with what I thought was another s14 transmission but now I am not so sure. Since installing it the speedomotor/odometer has not worked and when I checked to see if the speed sensor was hooked up it was not. The sensor itself is metal and has a harness coming off of it which from what I have read is an s13 sensor. The s14 is plastic and has two prongs coming out of it. Both are female as evident in this thread:

My question is can anyone verify that I need an s14 vss for my car or will an s13 sensor work? And where is the male connector for the sensor? Am I not looking hard enough? Can anyone post a picture?

Concerning the tachometer, it worked fine for about a month after the build so I'm certain these two issues are not related. The rest of my cluster is fine too so its not a power issue. One day the needle flew to the wrong side and now it only climbs on that side when i get on it. I am wondering if a sensor in the distributor has gone bad since I recently converted to coils after having some starting issues. What gives the tach its signal on these cars? THanks for any help.
